Upcoming workshops

Abstracting the Garden in Watercolor 6/14/26 10am - 12pm
$55.00

In this workshop, you will experience a fresh perspective by zooming in on the intricate details of flowers and foliage. We will capture the essence of a plant by observing so closely that the subject becomes a series of flowing, emotional shapes.

You will learn to quiet the critical mind, free yourself from the pressure of a "perfect" representational product, and invite a meditative flow state. Through a series of exercises, we will experiment with watercolor techniques including wet-on-wet, blending, and glazing. This class is designed for all skill levels, from absolute beginners to experienced artists looking to loosen their style.

Materials provided. We will begin the workshop in the rustic antique barn at Horsford Nursery and have a chance to roam the gardens for inspiration. Feel free to bring your favorite folding chair to ensure your comfort.

This outdoor workshop is held at Horsford Gardens and Nursery in Charlotte, Vermont.

Reprieve from Chronic Pain: Exploring Watercolors 7/23/26 10am - 12pm
$55.00

This workshop is especially for those managing chronic pain to connect with others in a nonjudgmental creative space. We will be inspired by the imperfection of the natural world, the beauty of the nursery gardens, and each other to draw and paint what we see and feel.

Participants will be guided through a series of short icebreaker activities to loosen the inner critic and prepare for flow—a state of relaxed, nonjudgmental creativity. You will learn basic watercolor techniques and explore the dramatic effects of using resists such as salt and tape.
